Our main program is our Children’s Holiday Gift Program.
Each year we are faced with the huge task of procuring new hats, scarves, socks, underwear, pajamas, books, toiletries, blankets, stuffed animals, and toys for up to 2,200 children. It’s an amazing experience to watch the community rally to meet the needs of the kids and their families.
Schools step up and have stuffed animal or sock and underwear drives. Service Clubs donate gift cards and arrive with car loads of toys. We are the recipient of donations from national gift programs. Companies and private donors give us funds to buy much needed pajamas and teen gifts.
By making a monthly contribution, you can help to support Holly House and our goal to make sure each of our children get what they need to be warm and happy. Please reach out and volunteer, donate financially or go and purchase items for our children. You will touch a little one’s heart.
We serve all walks of life. Our children come from 16 low-income schools in the Edmonds School District. We serve a large immigrant population who speak over 38 languages including Spanish & Russian, and a growing Native American and foster care population. We serve boys and girls, from infants to 17 years old.
We are working hard to meet the needs of our children as more and more of these families turn to Holly House for help and support.
Holly House began in 2006 as a grassroots operation at a local food bank. From 260 low-income children the first year, Holly House now serves 2,200 low-income children (infant to 17 years old), in primarily 16 schools in the Edmonds School District, Washington.
Although the economy has begun to improve, it is still increasingly difficult for families to provide food and housing for their children. Christmas is meager and often non-existent. You can help. Donate Funds, Necessities & Gifts or your time today.
Our children are cold, often going to school without socks and underwear. Many of our families are homeless, and may live in shelters, their cars, or in sub-standard housing. No child should have to live in those kinds of situations. Every child should have warm pajamas, a toothbrush, socks, underwear, and toys. Because of Holly House and the community around us, our children have the opportunity to get the things they need to lead warm and happy lives.
